Guest Hotels Switch on to Capital Culture

Guest Hotels and The Institute of Contemporary Arts today unveils plans for its new digital service, Capital Culture, giving art lovers a distinctive and specialised steer of what to see and do in the capital. This will be broadcast online at www.guesthotels.com and throughout its five hotels across London, including the iconic Blakes in Kensington.

London, UK (PRWEB) July 22, 2008 -- Capital Culture will present a monthly series of short films for Guest Hotels' guests and concierge club members, showcasing leading and emerging talent, broadcasting behind the scene tours of new exhibitions, films and performances, and carrying breaking news on the very best of cultural events in London.

The first in the monthly series of events in London includes renowned architect Richard Rogers will also be profiled discussing his major exhibition at The Design Museum. Richard Rogers + Architects- From The House To The City presents a retrospective of Rogers' work, from designing the Pompidou Centre with Renzo Piano in the 1970s, to the establishment of the Richard Rogers Partnership - now Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.


Completing the first installation of Guest Hotels' first instalment of Capital Culture is a showcase of the Victoria and Albert Museum's current exhibition on the Sixties girl group, the Supremes from the Mary Wilson collection. The display includes dresses worn by Mary Wilson, Diana Ross and Florence Ballard, original television footage, photographs and magazine spreads.

Note to Editors: Guest Hotels is a new collection of London hotels from the founders of GuestInvest which not only offer superb service, fine facilities and excellent food and drink but an opportunity for guests to sample and enjoy London's wide and diverse arts scene.

The first newly converted Guest Hotels art club, Nest, will join the existing Guest Hotels portfolio of Blakes and Guesthouse West and will be joined by The Jones in late September 2008 and The Chiswell Street Hotel in summer 2009.

Through membership to Guest Hotels' Cultural Concierge Club, both guests and local Londoners, will gain access to a series of partner London art institutions - currently institutions partnering Guest Hotels include the V&A, ICA, Tate, Photographers Gallery and the Gate Theatre. Access will be available to photographic and fine art exhibitions, live music shows - ranging from cabaret to classical to indie gig - to theatrical events, book launches and exhibitions within the Guest Hotels properties.

Guest Hotels is a subsidiary of parent company, GuestInvest, which launched in November 2003 as the UK's first buy-to-let hotel company. The concept allows investors to buy their own hotel room in central London which is fully maintained by Guest Hotels; a place where they can stay for up to 52 nights a year for free and receive 50 per cent of the room's income, which is let out by the hotel on their behalf throughout the year.
