Freight Dating Just Got Easier, as Leading Freight Exchange Unveils New Features

The Transport Exchange group has unveiled some new upgrades to make a significantly smoother experience for its 2,500 strong courier and haulier membership. With an improved support system, job notification and search facilities, it's never been easier to pick up backloads and improve your road transport business' fortunes. (PRWEB) August 30, 2008 -- Couriers and Hauliers using the Transport Exchange group's 'freight dating' system are becoming familiar with the new features rolled out by the company today. The company, who offer a real-time freight exchange for road transport workers, has made major improvements to the software, including internal job notifications and an improved support system, making for a smoother ride for drivers!

As well as many improvements and tweaks under the bonnet (the sites have been re-written for the .net programming language), the websites have plenty of obvious new features to get tongues wagging on the sites' busy forums. The navigation has improved, and there's plenty of help for new members: there's a newly implemented knowledge base and support system, allowing people to get answers to their questions quicker. There's also more help for road transport types struggling with their book keeping: the new accounting tab allows members the ability to carry out credit checking and monitoring, along with the company's proprietary online payment system, e-pay, which is fully integrated. Perhaps most excitingly though, there are plans to introduce an instant messaging system - something that no other freight exchange offers. This will allow members to communicate in real time: a feature that members will likely see as indispensable in the fast paced world of logistics when it goes live.

Managing Director of The Transport Exchange Group, Lyall Cresswell, is particularly excited by the website's changes and the response from our members: "We've had this new version of the freight exchange in a closed beta for a few of our hauliers for some time now, and the response has been really positive," he said. "People seem to think these are real improvements, and not just change for the sake of change and we've noticed a lot of buzz amongst our membership. It's going to get even better soon, too - we are looking to become the first freight exchange to have instant messaging facilities integrated into the system, which will make it that bit easier for our community to arrange loads and network," he explained. "Although the vast majority of our users renew their subscriptions, we want to make ourselves indispensable for the small percentage who do consider cancelling," he added.

In an age where Facebook and the social web are all encompassing, the Transport Exchange Group will be hoping these ongoing social changes will cement their strong communities and help their members get through these difficult times for the industry. "In these hard times, you need a solid friends network," said Cresswell "and our logistics community is just the thing to bring hard working drivers through this slump with flying colours."
