Wi-Spy DBx Helps Enterprises Visualize, Troubleshoot and Optimize 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz Wireless Networks With A Single, Compact, and Affordable USB Device
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 16, 2008 -- MetaGeek (www.metageek.net), a leading innovator and provider of USB-based Wi-Fi spectrum analyzer solutions, will conduct pre-release demonstrations of Wi-Spy® DBx, at Interop in New York in booth #1212, September 17-19 as the company prepares for its planned October general availability release. The latest addition to its line of Wi-Spy solutions, widely known as the most compact in their class, Wi-Spy DBx will have the unique capability to analyze both the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz wireless frequencies - bringing more power and convenience to enterprise and SMB users, alike.
As the 2.4 GHz band has grown increasingly crowded with Wi-Fi components, peripherals, and other devices, many companies - large enterprises especially - have opted to migrate to 5 GHz for their wireless networks. With more channels and bandwidth to utilize the highest speeds in 802.11n, the 5 GHz band has offers great benefits - but is still susceptible to the same interference issues as any wireless network as more 5GHz devices are introduced.
Wi-Spy DBx can scan the radio frequency range from 2.400 GHz to 2.495 GHz and 5.150 GHz to 5.850 GHz (complete coverage of 802.11a/n). A new feature introduced with Wi-Spy DBx, Hardware Control, allows users to zoom in to see more detail by controlling frequency and bandwidth resolution.
Bundled with MetaGeek's Chanalyzer 3.2 software - which provides many useful analyzation features including a device signature library, collaboration tools, archiving, hardware control and remote networking capability allowing users to collect and analyze wireless network data from an offsite location - so they can troubleshoot anytime, from anywhere.
Wi-Spy DBx allows users to actually see their full wireless network. This enables significantly improved installation of wireless devices and faster troubleshooting of complete networks, at work or at home, so users can benefit from optimal performance.
