BASF will present micro-seminars, The First Annual Builder's Challenge Awards, live product demonstrations and a Department of Energy press event in booth C4623 at the International Builders' Show (IBS) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, from Jan. 20-23, 2009. In addition to showcasing construction products, the events and seminars are intended to inform and inspire builders by highlighting how BASF's products, in conjunction with better building practices, increase energy efficiency, durability and speed of construction.
This is why we have created comprehensive programming at our booth and beyond at this year's International Builder's Show to help builders learn more about how practices and products can make them more competitive in any economic environment.

Florham Park, NJ (PRWEB) January 14, 2009 -- BASF will present micro-seminars, The First Annual Builder's Challenge Awards, live product demonstrations and a Department of Energy press event in booth C4623 at the International Builders' Show (IBS) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada, from Jan. 20-23, 2009. In addition to showcasing construction products, the events and seminars are intended to inform and inspire builders by highlighting how BASF's products, in conjunction with better building practices, increase energy efficiency, durability and speed of construction.

"Builders who are competing in today's market need more than product pitches," said Jack Armstrong, Leader Construction Initiative North America for BASF. "This is why we have created comprehensive programming at our booth and beyond at this year's International Builder's Show to help builders learn more about how practices and products can make them more competitive in any economic environment."

At BASF booth C4623, there will be a 10 minute overview of how chemistry can contribute to sustainable construction at the top of every hour, and on every half-hour, there will be 10 minute micro-seminars followed by a question and answer session conducted by BASF scientists on subjects that include:

How can becoming an Energy Star® Home Provider create a competitive advantage for my company?

How do I stop radiant heat from entering the attic?

How can I use concrete for storm water management?

How does graphite increase insulating value?

How do I get strong adhesion and excellent flexibility for solar panels, windows and roofs?

Also, to underscore the corporation's commitment to private-public partnerships, BASF will host two special events in conjunction with the Department of Energy.

The first will be a Department of Energy press event on Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. to announce new industry mandates in energy-efficiency standards for appliances. In addition, on Jan. 21 at 4 p.m., BASF will present its First Annual Builder's Challenge Awards to honor three home builders who have demonstrated excellence in achieving the parameters set forth by the Department of Energy's Builders Challenge program.

Live demonstrations of BASF's spray polyurethane insulation Comfort Foam® will be given daily at the Show Village Learning Center for Training and Education outdoor exhibit space to illustrate how closed-cell foam technology provides superior energy efficiency, a building envelope with healthier indoor air quality, and greater structural durability.

BASF is also the proud sponsor of the "How to Build with SIPS" live demonstration at the Structural Insulated Panel Association booth N449.
