Influx showcases new car designers.

(Vocus) November 12, 2008 -- A shape-shifting car and a garage that harnesses solar power are both glimpses of the future featured in the latest issue of Influx online, the online version of the prestige motor and biking magazine Influx, www.influx.co.uk, from Adrian Flux Insurance Services.

We hope that by featuring these fantastic designs we can flag up to the motor industry the talent that is waiting to step up to the plate and take up the challenge of designing the next generation of exciting, stylish and sustainable vehicles
The article "The Dreams of Children", looks at some of the next generation of car designers. Three hand-picked students from the Royal College of Art's elite Automotive Design Course were given design briefs to come up with a car for the future that needed to conserve resources and produce sustainable motoring, while inspiring the passion and sense of adventure that motoring encompasses.

The new ideas are truly futuristic and breath-taking. Paul Howse takes car design one step further with the car's garage being a vital and integral component. An array of solar panels on the garage roof captures the sun's energy for transfer to the car while it is parked inside. Meanwhile Ceri Yorath's shape-shifting vehicle becomes a moving sculpture whose shape depends on the type of road on which it is travelling.

"We hope that by featuring these fantastic designs we can flag up to the motor industry the talent that is waiting to step up to the plate and take up the challenge of designing the next generation of exciting, stylish and sustainable vehicles," says Gerry Bucke of Adrian Flux.

Influx is a luxury glossy motoring magazine that was originally available only to dealers and select customers of Adrian Flux and Bikesure. Now the Influx website also offers the chance to read the latest issue in full as well as to catch up on back issues, visit the photo gallery or view videos. All six issues so far can be viewed online in 'interactive' format, with 'turning pages' and zoom control for finer detail, or they can be downloaded as a PDF for offline viewing or printing out.

As well as car designs for the future, the most recent edition covers Sarah Bennett-Baggs' pink racing Porsche, a San Francisco motorcycle club, Volvo's evolving brand image and the life and times of Giorgetto Giugiaro.
