We are very excited to have BCMT back for their 20th year at the DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER
"We are very excited to have BCMT back for their 20th year at the DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER," said Cliff Bosley, BolderBOULDER race director. "The post-race massage consistently ranks among the best aspects of the race in our participant surveys. Everyone from the fastest runners to those just out for a 10K stroll enjoy a good massage afterwards."

Research conducted at the BolderBOULDER by the Boulder College of Massage Therapy found those participants who received free massage had a faster recovery time and less soreness compared to those who did not receive massage after the race. At this year's BolderBOULDER, BCMT students will be on-site for five hours and are expected to provide more than 1,400 post-race massages.

The BolderBOULDER is one of the largest road races in the world. This year the race is expected to attract more than 50,000 runners and walkers and draws professional athletes from all over the world to compete for one of the largest non-marathon prize purses in road racing.

"The BolderBOULDER race is just one of the many events BCMT students can choose to volunteer their time and massage expertise," said Aspen Sullivan, BCMT's internship and community service manager. "As part of our 1000-hour Certified Massage Therapist program students complete a minimum of 30 supervised internship hours, choosing from more than 50 facilities and organizations throughout the Front Range."

As a non-profit, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy is committed to educating the community on the therapeutic benefits of massage therapy and providing massages to a variety of populations. In 2007, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy's internship program provided more than 5,600 hours of massage therapy to assisted living homes, medical patients, healthcare workers, teachers, firefighters, athletes, other not-for-profit organizations and individuals in need.
