Wirral, Merseyside, UK (PRWEB) June 4, 2007 -- Childbirth, home births, labor and more are discussed in the new novel “A Modern Birth” by author Carol Falaki. “A Modern Birth” is the empowering story of four friends and three pregnancies. The book shows that pregnancy can be a lonely experience, even when one is surrounded by friends and family.
Debbie Johnson is afraid. She is 37 weeks pregnant and something is wrong in her marriage. Why is her husband so distant? Is it because she is pregnant? Can he be having an affair, and why does she feel attracted to the stranger on the beach? Helen and Liz are also pregnant. Helen’s baby is overdue, and her mum is feeling the strain. Liz has left her abusive partner and is planning a home birth. Chrissie, the independent single parent, is in love, after all these years.
Giving birth: You can talk about it, read about it, even watch it, but how can you really know what to expect? Be with Debbie, Helen and Liz as their stories unfold. Be with them in the final weeks of pregnancy and throughout labor and birth. This story contains detailed descriptions of induction of labor, emergency caesarean section, home birth and hospital birth.
