CivilianJobs.com Military Job Fairs put transitioning military job seekers face-to-face with civilian employers
Veterans make great employees, and any companies attending CivilianJobs.com Job Fairs will be introduced to this important talent pool.

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) May 6, 2007 -- CivilianJobs.com and Business and Professional Women/USA (BPW/USA) have collaborated to host a job fair to help military women and veterans find careers in the civilian work force. Through the respective programs of the two organizations, CivilianJobs.com Job Fairs and Women Joining Forces, the partners strive to connect transitioning military to critical resources and employment.

The CivilianJobs.com/Women Joining Forces Job Fair is scheduled for May 24, 2007 from 9 AM to 2 PM at the Fort Myer Officers' Club, 214 Jackson Avenue, Fort Myer, Virginia. Many of the nation's military-friendly employers will be recruiting for domestic and international positions including law enforcement, IT, project management, transportation, sales, and operations.

"We are very excited to partner with BPW/USA and Women Joining Forces for this job fair," says George Bernloehr, COO of CivilianJobs.com. "We chose to team up with them because we wanted to emphasize the value military women bring to the corporate world. We have employers who will be coming from all over the United States to recruit from this highly-trained and diverse talent pool."

CivilianJobs.com comprises a suite of services which connects America's military to civilian careers. Women Joining Forces is BPW/USA's program created to support women veterans as they transition from the military into civilian lives and careers.

"CivilianJobs.com, and its parent company, Bradley-Morris, Inc. (BMI), are powerful partners in that they bring critical resources to the military, specifically veterans," says BPW/USA CEO, Deborah Frett. "BPW/USA is dedicated to providing resources to our women veterans as they transition into the civilian work force and become re-acclimated to their lives."

Many employers are actively recruiting military job seekers because of the skills they bring to an organization. The military-experienced talent pool is known for its diversity, strong work ethic, and leadership abilities. In fact, USAToday recently profiled former military personnel and leading military-friendly employers in an article entitled "More employers recruit the military work ethic" www.usatoday.com/money/workplace/2007-02-16-vets-usat_x.htm).

CivilianJobs.com is also working in partnership with Hire Vets First to help veterans obtain post-military careers. "We are pleased that CivilianJobs.com Job Fairs are helping Hire Vets First expand the job services available to veteran job seekers," said Charles S. Ciccolella, Assistant Secretary for Veterans' Employment and Training, U.S. Department of Labor. "Veterans make great employees, and any companies attending CivilianJobs.com Job Fairs will be introduced to this important talent pool."

While the job fair is taking the opportunity to highlight female prior-military job seekers, all prior-military personnel, male or female, are encouraged to attend. There will be a variety of careers represented that are designed to appeal to veterans of either gender.
