Dimond was instrumental in the development and marketing of the dynamic weekend of activities that surrounds the event. His passion about the Concourse d'Elegance was not limited to his love for classic cars. He was most taken by the philanthropic nature of the event that raises money for charities including the Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation, Sunny Vista Living Center and The Iacocca Foundation.

At a Saturday evening gala, $2,000 was raised in a silent auction for the ''Mike Dimond HSMAI Foundation Scholarship Fund''. It was established to continue the legacy of this remarkable leader who passed away June 23, 2008 after suffering a heart attack. Widely recognized as one of the top hotel marketing executives in the nation, Dimond's career spanned over four decades. He retired from The BROADMOOR as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2006 and was one of the most celebrated leaders in the leisure and hospitality industry.
