The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the world’s information technology (IT) industry, announced today that business innovation expert Christopher Trimble will deliver the opening day keynote address at Breakaway 2008, the association’s annual member conference.

(Vocus/PRWeb) February 19, 2008 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), the leading trade association for the world’s information technology (IT) industry, announced today that business innovation expert Christopher Trimble will deliver the opening day keynote address at Breakaway 2008, the association’s annual member conference.
Breakaway 2008, the IT industry’s premier partnering and educational event, is scheduled for Aug. 5-7 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
Trimble is the author of Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators – from Idea to Execution, a book charting the experiences, ups and downs of general management leading a startup venture inside an established organization. His keynote speech at Breakaway 2008 is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5.
“Christopher Trimble is well known and highly regarded for his insight into innovation and what it takes to get promising ideas out of the incubator and up and running as sustainable new businesses,” said John Venator, president and chief executive officer, CompTIA. “His unique perspectives are certain to provide Breakaway attendees with information that will help them run their businesses more efficiently and effectively.”
Trimble is a faculty member at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, recently ranked the world's best MBA program by the Wall Street Journal and Forbes. He currently works with executives leading their own startup ventures inside long-established corporations. He is also a Senior Fellow at Katzenbach Partners LLC, a consulting firm that helps companies reach their strategic intent by offering a combination of analytic problem-solving and insight into people and organization.
Trimble’s recent appearances include a keynote address at the Conference Board's Innovation Conference in New York; and as a panelist at the Business Week CEO Forum in Beijing. He has published in the MIT Sloan Management Review, California Management Review and Across the Board; and has written for Fast Company and The Financial Times. He holds an MBA degree with distinction from the Tuck School, and a Bachelor of Science degree with highest distinction from the University of Virginia.
