Arlington, VA (PRWEB) November 7, 2006 -- Cyveillance, the leading provider of online risk monitoring and management solutions, today launches the first Internet security solution to provide reputation ratings for over 90 million domains. The Cyveillance Site Safety Index (CSSI) is available immediately to security vendors, ISPs and search portals, CSSI and can be integrated into existing Internet security solutions to identify Web sites that contain illegal or malicious content including those involved with identity theft, malware, spyware, adware, phishing, pornography, gambling and other objectionable content.

said Panos Anastassiadis, CEO of Cyveillance. By utilizing the comprehensive reputation data and risk assessment intelligence provided by CSSI, ISPs and security vendors can provide Internet users with the protection and safe online environment they have come to expect.
Presenting comprehensive intelligence about Web sites, CSSI correlates a broad set of attributes, including downloads, behaviors, site content and affiliations to calculate a single score that represents the risk level associated with visiting any given Web site. The continuously updated database assigns risk ratings to nearly every site on the Internet independent of their popularity, location or language.

With instances of malicious online content and identity theft growing higher everyday, Internet users rely on their ISPs and security vendors to not only stop attacks but to help proactively prevent exposure to these risks," said Panos Anastassiadis, CEO of Cyveillance. By utilizing the comprehensive reputation data and risk assessment intelligence provided by CSSI, ISPs and security vendors can provide Internet users with the protection and safe online environment they have come to expect."

CSSI is comprised of specific Web site characteristics, that when combined provide an overall risk factor for a given Web site. These components include:

•   Site Risk Rating Score – An overall score of risk posed to users based on a collection of Web site attributes that cause a negative impact on the Web surfer.
•   Behavior – The behavioral aspects of a Web site such as pop ups, browser hi-jacks, and auto redirects.
•   Phishing – Information about whether the Web site is involved in a phishing attack
•   Malware – Downloads available on a site that contains malware, spyware, or adware.
•   Objectionable content – Information about whether or not the Web site contains pornographic or gambling content.
•   Affiliations – Information about a Web sites relationships with other Web sites.

Unlike most traditional IT security risks, todays online threats undermine customer confidence in the Internet and reputable Web-based businesses. Malware, phishing attacks, counterfeit product distribution and many other scams are all designed to defraud consumers and businesses. The integration of CSSI intelligence into the framework of Security 2.0, which focuses on protecting online interactions and relationships, provides a proactive approach for clients to protect their customer information and online reputation. By adhering to the Security 2.0 philosophy of user-centric protection, Cyveillance is helping ensure the Internet remains a viable channel for commerce.
