Athens Greece (PRWEB) October 30, 2007 -- Independent filmmaker Loukas Doukas is very proud to announce the release of his new film “Fakneto.” In his directorial debut, Mr. Doukas has taken the progressive step to bypass traditional movie distribution companies and make his film available only on the Internet which will allow independent film fans to either purchase the DVD or download the film directly to their home computers. Both the DVD and the download are modestly priced at $3 so that fans of independent cinema from all over the world can enjoy the first of what Mr. Doukas hopes are many independent films marketed directly to discriminating films who are seeking cutting edge movies from new talents in the industry.
Written, directed, and produced by Loukas Doukas and filmed on a small production budget over several months, the film tells the story of Frank, a naïve young man struggling to find his place in the world and Dimitri, Frank’s boss who may be much more than he appears to be. In the course of an average working day, Frank uncovers traces of what may be a conspiracy to implicate him in Dimitri’s unsavory business dealings.
Through the help of his mentor, a bearded sage who inspires Frank to hold fast to his principles, Frank undergoes a metamorphosis from meek office clerk to avenging superhero. Once transformed, Frank discovers that he possesses untapped reservoirs of courage and strength and begins to formulate a strategy to dismantle Dimitri’s business empire with the unlikely help of Dimitri’s peculiar manservant, Chopsticks.
Director of Cinematography Jim Capp imbues his indoor shots with a gritty starkness that wonderfully captures Mr. Doukas’ gripping allegory and Frank’s internal struggles between the challenges of his new identity and the safety of his former life. All supporting roles are convincingly portrayed by new talents that bring freshness and immediacy to their roles and Mr. Doukas’ editing style masterfully lets the story crescendo to its finale.
