I am interacting with more and more guest that research our product online, so it made natural sense to try and reach out to this audience

Jupiter, FL (PRWEB) May 8, 2007 -- A Mancation is defined as a group of guys getting away for a weekend of fun. For Toby Brown, a St. Louis area native, a Mancation is defined by seeing his world champion St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. The Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa recently catered to this niche market and made it an experience worthy of champions. The "Florida Mancation" highlights an industry shift where consumers are going online and marketers are following them.

The Cardinal's play Spring baseball in Jupiter, FL. Mr. Brown did some research online to find the best resorts in the area. Based on this information, he called Jeff Castner the General Manager of the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa and stated his intention to get down to the Florida sunshine for a guy's weekend.

Mr. Castner made it a memorable experience for his guest by providing the guys field access for batting practice to see the Cardinal's, a luxury suite on top of the resort to play poker, a chartered fishing trip and much more. Toby brought his video camera and the two agreed to produce the first "Florida Mancation" video for YouTube.

"I am interacting with more and more guest that research our product online, so it made natural sense to try and reach out to this audience", Castner stated.

More and more consumers are going online to book their travel. According to TravelClick, the Internet accounted for 38.3 percent of 2006 brand hotel bookings, driven by a 20.2 percent growth rate compared to 2005. What is changing is how consumers are researching and interacting with the medium… all of the industry buzz words of the past: rich media, blogs and podcast are becoming a reality in the hospitality industry today.

According to Hitwise, YouTube is ranked as the 12th most visited Internet domain in the US. Hitwise goes on to point out that seekers are now more likely to go to YouTube than any other television network -- this became a reality in February of this year according to the research from Hitwise. Consumer-generated content will increasingly influence online travel purchasing decisions; some experts refer to this industry shift as Travel 2.0.
