FrameFree Video™ Allows for the Creation of Compelling Movies at a Fraction of Size of Leading Compression Technologies While Maintaining Unmatched Quality
AMSTERDAM (PRWEB) September 8, 2006 -- FrameFree Technologies, developers of a family of products that provide easy and efficient authoring and compression of motion imagery, today announced the introduction of FrameFree Video at IBC2006, where it will be giving sneak previews of the product to show attendees. FrameFree Video is the first pixel-based video compression system to allow users to create video files with higher picture quality than any other format at one-half to one-third the file size of current formats, opening up endless possibilities for artists, content producers and consumers. FrameFree Video will be broadly available in early October at www.framefree.com.
Highest Video Quality at a Fraction of the File Size
Unlike competing video compression systems, which use Block DCT Coding (MPEG, Windows Media and H.264), FrameFree Video uses a world-renowned pixel-matching engine called Critical Point Filters (CPF) to accomplish compression. CPF is the most efficient and accurate algorithm to automatically calculate pixel matching between any two images. The result is movies that are dramatically smaller than the commonly used DCT encoding method, and have a much higher quality.
FrameFree Video is based on the same principles as FrameFree Studio, released earlier this year. Built on the world’s most advanced pixel-matching and interpolation engine, FrameFree Studio starts with two digital still images of any resolution, and through analysis, interpolation and morphing, automatically provides interactivity and smooth motion between them. The result is a completely new medium and style of visual expression. With FrameFree Studio already in place, FrameFree has applied the same concepts to video, resulting in the ability to create the smallest video file size possible while maintaining the highest quality.
“FrameFree Studio was a technological breakthrough, and to apply its core value proposition to video is the logical next step in the evolution of FrameFree media,” said Tom Randolph, president of FrameFree. “The availability of FrameFree Video brings an opportunity to create videos at a fraction of the size as other compression formats while not sacrificing quality in any way – in fact movies created with FrameFree Video are higher in quality than competing compression systems.”
Additionally, artists who use FrameFree Video will also have access to the FrameFree United Networks™ (FUN). FUN is a global content delivery system that aggregates original digital content for efficient, worldwide distribution. For businesses, FUN allows artists and publishers complete control over delivery, tracking and syndication of their work by providing a secure, global, 19,000 edge server network for quick and easy access to any computer, anywhere in the world.
