Recently, many men and women have been calling HTmarket.com about putting together home theaters, and many are now using the phrase 'man cave'
What is a "Man Cave"? The term refers to a designated area of the house (usually a basement garage, or attic) which has been set aside for the "man" in the family to decorate. In the Man Cave, a man can relax, unwind, or otherwise have a good, responsibility-free time.

The inspiration behind the promotion arose from increasing use of the term "Man Cave" among home theater enthusiasts, where it was once simply a buzzword. "Recently, many men and women have been calling HTmarket.com about putting together home theaters, and many are now using the phrase 'man cave'," says Alan Hutchinson, founder of HTmarket.com. "We've had several wives call us and say, 'I need some ideas for gifts for the man cave.'"

The contest keeps with the caveman theme of the promotion by using cave painting clues. Guests browsing HTmarket.com can participate by "hunting" for gift certificate codes that may be instantly redeemed during checkout. In order to find the codes, players must browse product pages in search of home theater-themed caveman paintings. Clicking on a painting reveals a clue concerning the location of a hidden code. If the clue is found, it may be entered and redeemed for a gift certificate, valued anywhere from $25 to $500. Gift certificates can be used on popular furnishing for the man cave, such as luxury home theater seating or perhaps the latest home theater projector. Each Man Cave Code can only be used once, so the first to follow the clues and find the code is the winner.

While men and women alike are invited to participate in this Man Cave promotion and build a Man Cave of their very own, Alan Hutchinson maintains that a proper Man Cave should not be used for romantic dramas under any circumstances.

"The Man Cave is sacred," Alan reminds us. "Long live the Man Cave."
