Seminar helps C-level executives understand how to comply with new FRCP amendments by effectively managing the lifecycle of electronic messages.

New York (PRWEB) August 30, 2006 –– To help businesses implement effective electronic messaging strategies in the face of mounting legal and regulatory pressures, Fortiva Inc., a leading provider of managed email archiving, in collaboration with Mercury Technologies Inc., a provider of technology infrastructure solutions, will be holding a seminar at the New York Yacht Club on September 14th. The Electronic Messaging Lifecycle Management Seminar will allow C-level executives to ensure their organizations are protected from regulatory and legal risks.

To properly comply with the recent amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP) which go into effect on December 1, 2006, companies have to address how they are retaining their electronic documents, including email. “All businesses that could potentially face litigation will be affected by these amendments. This makes it necessary for organizations to have a complete understanding of their IT infrastructure so they can meet the FRCP requirements. The seminar will examine how they can properly enforce their email retention policies and how they can implement a legal hold policy when a court case arises,” said Chris Tebo, Chief Technology Officer of Fortiva.

New regulations governing electronic correspondence are also necessitating the development of executive strategies to ensure that organizations are protected from regulatory risks. “Electronic messaging is the heartbeat of business,” said Philip Meese, President of Mercury Technologies Inc. “As a result, the challenge for executives is to develop, implement and enable a holistic electronic messaging strategy that addresses not only user needs, capacity management and effective resource deployment, but all regulatory and legal requirements.”

The Electronic Messaging Lifecycle Management Seminar will discuss the regulatory, operational, and financial considerations of developing an electronic messaging strategy. The complimentary half-day seminar will be led by recognized industry experts and will also feature a panel of executives who will discuss their perspectives and experiences regarding electronic messaging management and retention. For more information and online registration, visit the seminar website at http://www.fortiva.com/seminars/elm2006/.
