Milford (CT) Hospital patients in southern Connecticut are now benefiting from a custom solution by Troy, Michigan-based EnovateIT to improve the hospital's medication administration process. The state-of-the art solution features Rubbermaid Medical medication carts on medical surgical units.
Troy, MI (PRWEB) October 2, 2006 -- Milford Hospital, a full-service medical center in Connecticut, desired to measurably improve their medication administration process. The existing medication carts were cumbersome and lacked the mobile computing systems necessary to electronically track the details associated with inpatient medication delivery.
As an initial step towards the deployment of Meditech’s Electronic Medication Administration Record software (EMAR), Milford Hospital’s nurse, pharmacy and IT management teams decided to explore other delivery options. Lynn Christensen and Maureen Smith, executives in Milford Hospital’s IT and nursing departments, contacted Enovate IT for ideas. “We were looking for medication carts that readily integrated with mobile computing systems.
