Seattle Personal Injury Law Firm Paglialunga & Harris, PS Announces Intentions to Represent Washington Residents in Cases against Drug Companies for Unsafe Drugs

Seattle law firm has received more and more calls from consumers who allege to have been harmed by pharmaceutical drugs -- so many, in fact, that the law firm has decided to make drug litigation an area of the law firm’s focus.

(PRWEB) July 26, 2006 -- Seattle Personal Injury Law Firm Paglialunga & Harris, PS (www.phlawfirm.com) started representing plaintiffs in cases involving unsafe pharmaceutical drugs when the Vioxx recall occurred nearly two years ago. The Seattle law firm represents individuals nationwide who allegedly suffered heart attacks or strokes or died as a result of taking the pain medication. Recently, however, the law firm has been receiving more and more calls from consumers who allege to have been harmed by pharmaceutical drugs. So many, in fact, that the law firm has decided to make drug litigation an area of the law firm’s focus.

“Several times a week we get calls from people who have suffered serious side effects from pharmaceutical drugs, often times they are side effects that the drug company failed to warn consumers about,” says Seattle lawyer James Harris. “I believe that consumers are beginning to become aware that drug companies are pushing medicine that is not necessarily safe, and they are starting to look to their medicine as a possible cause of their illnesses.”

Harris says his law firm is currently investigating lawsuits on behalf of consumers who believe they have suffered osteonecrosis of the jaw from taking Fosamax and Actenol, diabetes from Zyprexa and Seroquel, and compulsive behavior from taking Mirapex for restless leg syndrome, just to name a few. “I believe this is unfortunately the tip of the ice berg,” says Harris. “What we’ve seen in some of the Vioxx litigation is that drug companies are pressured to market blockbuster drugs and that they are putting profits ahead of people. There is an assumption on the part of consumers and doctors that if the FDA approved a drug, it must be safe. Most people don’t realize that the system is flawed and a surprisingly high percentage of drugs are recalled several years after being put on the market because they are unsafe.”

Seattle attorney Charles Paglialunga, another lawyer in the Seattle law firm, says their law firm is committed to making sure that people who have been injured as a result of dangerous drugs receive justice. “Some of the drug companies are acting recklessly with people’s lives. There is going to be a wave of lawsuits against those companies that have pushed unsafe drugs without giving fair warning to consumers about the serious health risks associated with those drugs.” The Seattle law firm plans to partner with top law firms from around the country to provide the best representation possible for each different type of drug case.

Vioxx cases have been filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District Court of Louisiana, MDL No. 1657, Case No.’s: 05-4257; 05-4265; 05-5031; 05-4263; 05-4261; 05-4264; 05-4262; 05-4259; 05-4266; 05-4260; 05-4258.
