Glass artist Joy Day created what was to be a gorgeous molded glass decorative bowl, but her cats had other plans for it. After setting the first art bowl down for only seconds, she turned to find one of her cats in it, already pretending to be asleep. But what makes them unique? The beds are a very thick cast glass, using a special technique that Miss Day developed using the glass itself to splash colors throughout the bowl. The interior shape is designed to best cradle the cat, while the exterior is designed to provide stability and safety for the cat and it's family. Miss Day stated, "Even with how rambunctious these cats are, the beds are safe. Mixing my passion for my art with my love for cats makes these beds even more special." These beds truly are works of art - each taking at least 6 full days to cast, mold, hand-polish and then, of course, pass the strenuous kitty inspection and approval process.
