Take a Tour, Snap a Photo, Win a Prize – the New Viator “Traveler of the Month” Program

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2008 -- It’s true what they say about a picture telling a thousand words, especially when it commemorates an unforgettable travel experience. Viator.com, the leading online resource for booking more than 5,500 trip activities and experiences at the best prices, is letting the inspirational images speak for themselves with the launch of traveler-submitted photos. The traveler photo feature is the latest in an ongoing series of enhancements to the Viator website, and complements popular customer favorites like Traveler Reviews, the Viator Travel blog (travelblog.viator.com), Suggested Itineraries, First-Timer Guides and Shareable Wish Lists.

Photos are the tangible memories we take home from every trip, and the tool we most often use to share our experiences with our friends and loved ones
Viator has already received thousands of traveler images depicting everything from Thai elephant treks and Egyptian camel rides to private tours of the Vatican and nights out in Las Vegas. To help foster this enthusiasm for sharing their unique experiences with others, Viator has launched its “Traveler of the Month” program. Customers who submit a photo (or photos) depicting their Viator experiences will be automatically eligible for a chance to win a US$100 Viator Experience Gift Certificate and a feature on the Viator Travel Blog. Viator’s team of travel experts will determine the winner using serious scientific criteria including funniest, prettiest and weirdest, but more importantly, most inspirational - depicting the true spirit of travel that Viator aims to inspire.

“Photos are the tangible memories we take home from every trip, and the tool we most often use to share our experiences with our friends and loved ones,” said Viator Founder and Chairman, Rod Cuthbert. “Publishing our customers’ photos further enhances the connection among travelers within the global online community and enables them to more thoroughly research and plan the type of experiences they want to have while at their destination.”

Viator plans to continue the evolution of the site throughout 2008, with upcoming enhancements including the addition of new and exciting destinations, streamlined usability and more personalized content on the horizon. Visit the Viator Travel Blog for more details about the new Traveler of the Month program.

NOTE TO EDITORS: All traveler-submitted photos will become part of the growing Viator Visual Library. Learn more at the site’s recently revamped Media Center. The Viator.com Flickr Library currently features images from more than 50 destinations including Baltimore, Berlin, Dublin, Giza, Kyoto, Las Vegas, Maui and Uluru, all available for download.
