'Puppetics™' action figures present serious politics with a laugh and a smile. The first set features George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 14, 2006 -- Mulberry Pi recently released its first set of "Puppetics™" - action figures that blend "puppets" with "politics."

In addition to being fun and entertaining, "Puppetics™" provide a springboard into dialogue and discourse.

"Its time for political action figures to move beyond their dummy personas and get a little perspective," said Farzam Farrokhi, founder of Mulberry Pi (Mullpi). "This set is to be the first of many following a concept of what we believe is a natural mixture of entertainment and content."

Mullpi (www.mulberrypi.com) believes that entertainment can and should be a neutral and effective medium for exchange of information and ideas relating to social, cultural and political issues. With that goal in mind, Mullpi intends to conceive, design and develop fun and entertaining products that add to the public discourse.

"At a time of deep divisions in ideology and interests between nations, it seems facts, perspective and dialogue should be at the forefront of any engagement with respect to mutual understanding and respect," Mr. Farrokhi said. "And what better way to deliver that message than with a laugh and a smile. It would be sort of like 'The Daily Show' of the action figure world."

The first set of Puppetics™ pairs two key figures from the United States and Iraq - President George Bush and Saddam Hussein, respectively - within a single package. The meticulously designed, grinning, happy figures are accompanied by a chronological history of relations between the countries dating back to the early 1900s. The package is further enhanced by quotes from famous puppeticians both past and present. All the information is corroborated, with references also printed on the package. It is political science for kids of all ages.

The figures are presented in the attire in which they would feel most comfortable. President Bush wears cowboy boots, jeans, a denim shirt and a jacket. Hussein is adorned in military fatigues, complete with his trademark turtle-neck and gun holster. Accompanying the figures are interchangeable props that - directly or indirectly - highlight important issues relating to global politics. The props include:

- Barrel labeled "Oil"
- Barrel labeled "WMD"
- Book titled "The Holy Book"
- Book titled "World Domination for Dummies"
- Bottle of beer
- Cigar
