Alfred Publishing (www.alfred.com), announces that it has entered into a digital distribution agreement with Big Fish Media (www.bigfish-media.com) to deliver their audio and video products.
Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) November 19, 2007 -- The world's largest educational print music publisher, Alfred Publishing (www.alfred.com), announces that it has entered into a digital distribution agreement with Big Fish Media (www.bigfish-media.com) to deliver their audio and video products. Known primarily for its extensive catalog of printed music, Alfred has over 10,000 recordings of music used in its various book products and thousands of instructional and performance video clips as well as an extensive catalog of full-length DVD products. Big Fish Media will work closely with the various divisions of Alfred to bring these audio and video tracks to the online marketplace.
With this partnership, Big Fish Media will be responsible for encoding and delivering all material to digital music services such as iTunes, eMusic, Amazon's MP3 Store, Napster, Rhapsody as well as other digital music stores around the world. The initial delivery will consist of over 2000 tracks of Holiday, Christian and Patriotic music. Following soon thereafter will be thousands of tracks in a wide range of genres and styles.
"As one of the world's leading print music publisher we have created and own thousands of recordings which we have up until now used primarily to support the sale of our print music products. Yet, in entering into this agreement with Big Fish Media we can now make these outstanding recordings, which are great in their own right even without the print product, available to customers through all the major digital sites in the world." Andrew Surmani, Vice President, Marketing.
Much of Alfred's recorded material has never been made available for sale as an audio-only product. Ranging from fully-arranged, band, choir and orchestra recordings to play-along instructional lessons, music students and enthusiasts will, for the first time, have worldwide access to these unique recordings.
"This is an amazing treasure-trove of material and we are extremely excited to help bring it to the digital music marketplace," says Steven Weber, co-founder of Big Fish Media. "The sheer size and diversity of Alfred's catalog represents a huge opportunity for teachers, students, as well as the millions of people who already enjoy Alfred's physical products."
