Looking to generate donations and raise breast cancer awareness, a teen girl has started a new female blog and discussion website, Felorese.com. She hopes to raise $2 million over a year period using her informative Web site. All money will be distributed to breast cancer charities.

Hyattsville, Maryland (PRWEB) June 22, 2006 -- A 15-year-old girl has started a breast cancer blog to raise money for charity. The site also raises awareness of the disease and provides visitors with a forum to discuss and learn more about the disease.

Annabelle Nwokenkwo, a resident of the DC metro area created Felorese.com, with the help of her brother, as a way to make her own contribution to society. The site which was created as place where females could blog about varying topics, also takes on a second purpose of raising money for women related problems or in this case $2 million for charities.

It’s a disease that affects 1 in 7 females over their lifespan and it continues to kill thousands
The program which is called FBCI or Felorese.com Breast Cancer Initiative, will begin from July ‘06 to July ‘07 and according to the site, the goal will be to raise the amount through a $5 donation from visitors to the site. Once the period is over the money raised will be distributed to breast cancer charities.

Under the plan, the money raised will be held in a Paypal account and will not be touched. Instead, to offset any cost associated with the program and running the site, Annabelle plans to seek for ad-sponsors.

Why Breast Cancer? “It’s a disease that affects 1 in 7 females over their lifespan and it continues to kill thousands”, replied Annabelle, “but even with the wide reach of the disease, many women are not aware of the reality and do not go for regular mammograms.”

Annabelle hopes that the program and efforts will raise awareness to the disease.

“My main goal in all this is to raise awareness about the disease,” commented Annabelle “There is a huge possibility that I might not raise the total amount, but if I can put a spotlight on it, lives could be saved.”
