Video Blogging Gets Heavenly: Cyberpastor.com Brings 'God Vlog' to the Internet

Pastor Andrae Bailey and the team at Quest Media have just launched cyberpastor.com, a new video blog focused on faith and inspiration. This website will have 3-5 minute video devotionals available almost everyday free of charge.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) July 10, 2006 -- The phenomenon that is Internet video blogging just got a new occupant to the party -- God. After almost one year of planning and preparation, Pastor Andrae Bailey and his media team have just launched their new Internet site, Cyberpastor.com, offering daily 3-5 minute video devotionals free of charge to anyone with a computer and Internet access. Although many churches have segments of their ministry directed at the internet, Pastor Andrae Bailey has left his traditional local church roots, to focus all his full ministry efforts online.

Hcyberpastor.jpgis experience doing pastoral work for two multi-thousand member churches over the past decade left Pastor Bailey poised to start his own local church. Last year, during the process of planning to start that church, he felt compelled to go a new, and somewhat unconventional direction. “I was driving down the road one day and noticed that there was a church on almost every corner,” Pastor Bailey explained, “but as I looked at the Internet, the amount of spiritual resources people had to choose from was very limited.”

I believe the next great battleground for the hearts and minds of our nation is the Internet.
An admitted Internet novice, Pastor Bailey began work on the site almost 12 months ago, but found the technical side to be much more challenging than expected. Fortunately, he found divine intervention from a couple of experienced Internet pioneers; Rocketboom.com founders, Amanda Congdon and Andrew Michael Baron. “I found their site about six months into the planning of Cyberpastor.com, and sent them an email asking for help,” explained Pastor Bailey. “When I emailed them, I had no idea they had the Internet following that they did. Amazingly, they emailed me back and offered their assistance. I flew from our offices in Orlando to New York City, where the Rocketboom staff spent time helping me build my new spiritual video blogging website.” Said Pastor Bailey.

Rocketboom.com is currently one of the most downloaded video blogs on the Internet with almost 300,000 video downloads a day. Many in the Internet community credit Rocketboom for helping revolutionize video blogging. Apple Computer founder Steve Jobs even referenced Rocketboom when he recently launched Apple's new video playing ipod device.

Pastor Bailey was amazed at how potential religious and political differences did not affect the Rocketboom co-founder’s willingness to help him. “I was utterly impressed by Amanda Congdon and Andrew Michael Baron’s willingness to help build a video blogging website that could potentially have views that are in contrast to their own. They were both very much a class act and a real inspiration in building the site,” raved Cyberpastor.com founder, Andrae Bailey. “Andrew Michael Baron reminded me, 'That is what the Internet is all about -- the exchange of ideas.'”

This revolutionary new media philosophy has put sites such as Rocketboom, and video service sites such as Youtube.com, CurrentTV.com, and Apple’s iTune Podcasting service on a path that many experts see as the future of the Internet. The mass popularity of video personalities on the internet is even catching the eye of Hollywood. Recently, Youtube.com vlogger Brooke “Brookers” Brodack was signed to a deal with talk show host Carson Daly, and Rocketboom co-founder Amanda Congdon has been signed by top Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel, the inspiration for Jeremy Piven’s Emmy-nominated character on “Entourage.”

Pastor Bailey believes the demand for video content on the Internet opens up a great opportunity for people of faith to bring the message of God’s love to the masses. He explained, “I believe that for the religious community to be effective, they must be proactive in helping bring new resources to the Internet for those searching, and desiring religious content. The Internet is turning into America’s new front porch. It is the place where people are coming together, sharing ideas, and spending a lot of their personal time.”

Cyberpastor.com was created by the innovators of Quest Media along with Pastor Bailey's Quest Foundation and his own personal finances. The television equipment, computers, programs, and staff have totaled almost $75,000 dollars to date. However, Pastor Bailey sees it as an investment in the future. "I believe the next great battleground for the hearts and minds of our nation is the Internet." Whether you are looking for advice on dating, self-help, overcoming addictions, career choices, or other personal interests and goals, Cyberpastor.com is dedicated to bringing you the eternal perspective of God’s Word.
