D'Angelo recently announced his return with the digital release of his iTunes exclusive single "I Found My Smile Again" (Remake) which is currently up for a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance. The track showcases D'Angelo's perfection of soul fusion, a genre that mixes everything from funk and jazz to hints of hip-hop with some of the most charismatic R&B vocal styling. D'Angelo remains one of the founding fathers of the R&B soul movement of the middle to late '90s, which took classic R&B and fused it with new age hip-hop soul. His debut album "Brown Sugar" won him countless die-hard fans, not to mention double platinum success. His follow-up "Voodoo" debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 and earned D'Angelo a Grammy for Best R&B Album, plus a second Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for "Untitled (How Does It Feel)."
