The leader in the data security industry has launched a new product, the Erase-O-Matic, designed specifically to demagnetize digital video and computer tape. This cost-conscious product offers unbeatable physical data security to businesses of all sizes.

San Marino, CA (PRWEB) May 8, 2008 -- Data Devices International, a leader in the data security industry, has launched the new Erase-O-Matic, a degausser specifically designed to completely demagnetize hard-to-erase digital video and computer tape.

"This lightweight degausser is inexpensive, quiet, easy to use and perfect for the workplace," said David Partridge, President of Data Devices International. "It's so effective and easy to use, every home office and small office should have one."

It's so effective and easy to use, every home office and small office should have one.
Many forms of digital video tape and certain types of higher coercivity computer tape, such as LTO-1 and LTO-2, are more difficult to erase than analog tape and require a more powerful degausser. Degaussers that can handle these types of tape have typically been cost prohibitive for the small office and home office user, frequently costing over $2000. The Erase-O-Matic costs a mere fraction of that.

The revolutionary new Erase-O-Matic table-top degausser uses the latest in technology - rare earth permanent magnets - to demagnetize magnetic media, instead of electrical power. This new technology is much more powerful and much less expensive than its electric counterpart, and so the Erase-O-Matic is a less expensive and more powerful degausser for the consumer.

Most tape degaussers rely on electrical power and overheat quickly, needing time to cool down. The Erase-O-Matic doesn't need any external power source and thus can't overheat. It can be run continuously - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At just five pounds, this video and computer tape eraser is completely mobile and transportable.

This type of unit is ideal for state and local government, law enforcement, and medical, financial and media applications. It is ideal for any user - home or professional - who is identity theft conscious and looking to have greater control over his computer data and digital information.

In addition, as consumers are becoming more conscious about recycling and recyclable materials, erasing and reusing material such as video and computer tape can save the consumer time, space, and money while doing their part to help the environment.

Data Devices International, Inc., is a leader in the field of data security products and services. Specializing in degaussers, hard drive duplicators & erasers, tape equipment, industrial shredders. Product specifications for the Erase-O-Matic can be found at Data Devices International, Inc..
