ResortQuest joins local businesses in supporting Mardi Gras on the Beach with accommodation packages for out of town guests.
Fort Walton Beach, FL (PRWeb) January 10, 2007 -- On February 3, 2007 thousands of people will be enjoying the beautiful white beaches and emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico, a bead-filled Mardi Gras Parade and the grand finale -- a Jesters' Ball in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, hosted by Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce. This popular local event has also become a favorite with vacationers who come to the area to participate in this unique Mardi Gras celebration and enjoy the beauty, comfort and relaxation of a beach vacation.
The Island Parade consisting of over 70 floats will begin at 12:00 noon and travel down Okaloosa Island ending near the Emerald Coast Conference Center. The Street Festival, which will be held on Okaloosa Island, will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 6:00 p.m. Local restaurants will be showcasing their specialties while live, down-home Louisiana style music entertains the crowd. A variety of arts and craft booths and family activities all come together to create a unique Mardi Gras celebration -- beach style! Transportation will be provided to shuttle visitors to all the festivities.
Topping off the events of the day is a Mardi Gras Jesters' Ball. The Jester's Ball starts at 8:00 p.m. and goes until 1:00 a.m. As your eyes feast on the wonderful assortment of Mardi Gras decorations and costumes, your ears will delight in the wonderful sounds of some of Louisiana's favorite musicians performing in true Cajun style. When you can get your feet to stop dancing, you won't want to miss the "Taste of Mardi Gras" extravaganza sponsored by local restaurants. A cash bar, carnival rides, tarot card readings and true "Carnival" atmosphere will be all around you.
