Developed by a group of public insurance adjusters following their work on numerous Hurricane Katrina insurance claims, FileoDex is designed to avoid some of the major disputes that arise from the attempted settlement of claims. The program was also designed to aid in the reconstruction of valuable paperwork as it pertains to individuals and households.

FileoDex is an innovative way for individuals to store and adjust personal and household records in a secure, password-protected and encrypted medium," says Charles Thompson, Vice President of Memtechs. It is the fastest way to organize critical personal data for any emergency."

FileoDex comes to the user on a 2GB USB memory drive. The program consists of several sections, including: address book, banking information, credit card information, vehicle information, important web links, insurance information, medical information, dwelling information, valuable inventory (including photos) and pet information.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, reconstructing records after a disaster may be essential for tax purposes, getting federal assistance or insurance reimbursement". Often, records needed to prove loss in a disaster may be damaged or destroyed by that same incident.

The FileoDex program is a reasonably priced storage system for important records. The program is searchable and printable. FileoDex is far superior to burning information on a CD or DVD, as it allows changes to the stored information with the click of a mouse.

FileoDex is virtually hacker safe, as the information can only be accessed when the USB drive is inserted in the computer port. The program cannot be run from the hard drive.
