A new twist to nightlife debuts in Boston: SkyBark! The pet friendly event debuts at the Rack in Faneuil Hall providing doggy and human fashion show, live music, and more, with proceeds benefiting Much Love animal rescue.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) August 6, 2006 -- Look out Boston, the dogs are raiding the city. SkyBark has ventured cross country from its origins in Los Angeles, California and will be taking Boston by storm. On Sunday August 27, 2006 beginning at 3 p.m., SkyBark Boston will debut a V.I.Pooch event at the Rack in Faneuil Hall. What is SkyBark you may ask? It’s the hottest new trend in the nightlife scene.

SkyBark formed in 2005 when the creators of PETaPOTTY decided that it was time to stop leaving Fifi and Fido behind as they went out to enjoy the nightlife scene. Atop the offices of PETaPOTTY, the creators encouraged the building owner to develop a rooftop bar conducive to allowing pets and people. SkyBark debuted in March of 2006 with a huge success. After several more events, including events sponsored by Disney, Le Paws, and White Bites dog treats, SkyBark had branded itself the newest, underground nightlife scene for Los Angeles, even acquiring support from such celebrities as Norm MacDonald and Kelly McCarty.

The innovative concept of SkyBark is simple: it’s nightlife with a purpose. Yes, you can bring your dog with you to the party scene, but the event itself benefits a different charity each time. The Boston event’s headliner charity is Much Love. A charity endorsed by such celebrities as Nicole Richie, Hilary Duff, Alicia Silverstone, Tori Spelling and many others. SkyBark always donates 100% of its silent auction proceeds to the charity and also donates proceeds from the admissions fee. SkyBark Boston will also be donating an additional portion of proceeds to a local Boston charity, which has yet to be determined.

So what is planned for SkyBark Boston? The event is still being perfected, however, the following are some of the things you can expect at the event: live music by local Boston rock cover band BrickPark, a doggy and human fashion show, food, drinks, silent auction, free product giveaways (including fabulous items from such companies as Golddiggers, Animal Print Magazine, White Bites, Sherpa, and many others), celebrity guests, a dog bar featuring specialty foods, Dogwa for your pampered pooch, a mini-dog park, and more. SkyBark plans on making its mark in Boston and creating a monthly event for all the New England dog lovers.

The event will be located at The Rack (24 Clinton Street Boston, MA) and will begin at 3p.m. From 3p.m. until 8:00p.m. all ages are welcome, after 8p.m. it will be a 21+ affair. You may purchase your admission to the event presale by visiting www.skybark.com and clicking purchase tickets at the bottom of the page or calling 213-891-1722. Tickets are $20 per adult, $10 per child (under 15) and $10 per pooch (proof of rabies vaccine is needed) pre-sale; door prices are $25 per adult, $15 per child, and $15 per pooch. We are also working on obtaining a doggy nightcare service, so if you want to dance for a few minutes without your pooch you can have a trained professional watch him for you. We hope to see you and your pooch there.

His famous guests included dogs from EIGHT BELOW, 101 & 102 DALMATIANS, INSPECTOR GADGET, BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, ANCHORMAN, DR. DOOLITTLE and more. Making a special appearance was Coal’s cast mate, Crystal the Capuchin monkey, who came out to support her friend despite the obvious language barrier.
