Available information was from religious sites, judgmental opinions, or from friends and family who told you 'what you wanted to hear'

Calif. (PRWEB) March 27, 2008 -- MyXpectation.com is a new and one-of-a kind free discussion board Web site for people challenged with setting expectations in relation to dating, living with or married to a partner with children from a prior relationship and possibly dealing with a difficult ex-spouse.

MyXpectation.com is the only place you can go to today to share your experiences, vent your frustrations, give advice or just simply boast in your eX success. You can also simply read how others are handling their experiences and expectations.

With over 50 percent of U.S. families remarried or re-coupled, myXpectation.com is a much needed resource aimed to help the rapidly growing "divorced-with-kids", "never-married-with-kids" or "dating-someone-with-kids" demographic looking for realistic information and real life experiences from others in a similar situation.

Anonymity is an option for anyone visiting myXpectation.com. All that is required is some basic information such as age, sex and marital status. Pseudonyms may be used or you can use your actual name if you prefer. Email addresses can be shared as well. The goal is for users of the site to feel completely comfortable in expressing themselves as honestly as possible and to feel safe and secure in doing so. The site's main feature is that it offers an open forum for people from all backgrounds to support each other with difficult life issues specifically relating to divorce and re-marriage, where more often than not children are involved. This has been a much neglected topic for discussion on the Internet.

MyXpectation.com, created by two women and long time friends, found themselves in relationships with children involved. One with a child of her own from a previous marriage and the other dating someone with two children, marrying him and eventually having one of their own. They had few resources that provided information on what really happens to the relationship and more importantly, to the kids involved once the relationships were taken to the next step.

"Available information was from religious sites, judgmental opinions, or from friends and family who told you 'what you wanted to hear'," stated a co-founder. "Based on my experience after seven years of being married to an eX, I set my expectations way too high. I really want others to share and learn from the good, bad and the not so good of what can be expected from a relationship where kids and ex-spouses are involved."

A Boston University psychologist researcher reported that of the career women who had married men with children over 75 percent said that, "If they had to do it again they would NOT marry a man with children." This statistic shows the need for a place where people can communicate with each other about the multitude of complex issues that arise in relationships when children and X's are important factors.

MyXpectation.com is also a great place for unmarried men and women, who don't have children and are wondering what it might be like getting involved with someone who has children and an X.
