New Laser Light Treatment Improves Hair Loss

The Skin Center Medical Spa now offers LUCE® Light Therapy to help with male and female pattern hair loss.
LUCE Light Therapy can be an efficacious treatment for anyone experiencing mild to moderate hair loss

(PRWEB) August 1, 2007 -- Having thick, healthy hair is often a sign of youthful beauty. No one wants to accept the fact that he or she is losing hair, but for the majority of men and a growing number of women, hair loss is a real problem.

Until recently, few treatments offered clinical improvement for hair loss and most of those treatments required prescription medication or a cumbersome application of topical products. Today, a new type of laser technology, called LUCE® Light Therapy, offers an effective, natural alternative to prevent the progression of male and female pattern hair loss. This remarkable treatment is now available at The Skin Center Medical Spas located in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

LUCE® (pronounced LOO-CHAY) Light Therapy involves simply sitting under the low-level laser light for a series of sessions. During each session, which lasts 20 to 30 minutes, a cool, low level infrared light penetrates the scalp and increases blood and lymph circulation at the follicular level to help decrease inflammation and energize the follicular cells. The Luce® Light Therapy has shown to stop hair loss progression in 90 percent of patients and convert 70 percent of hair from the resting phase to the growing phase - the period of time in which hair is typically shed from the hair follicle, to the active growing phase.

"LUCE Light Therapy can be an efficacious treatment for anyone experiencing mild to moderate hair loss," said Dominic A. Brandy, MD, founding medical director of The Skin Center Medical Spa. "The majority of patients who use LUCE Light Therapy have seen noticeable results with hair re-growth. This unique light stimulates the re-growth of hair by effectively converting hair from the resting phase to the active growing phase. We encourage our hair restoration patients to use the LUCE Light to speed recovery and reduce shedding after surgery."

LUCE® Light Therapy gives men and women of all ages to opportunity to have fuller, healthier, more youthful-looking hair because it creates the optimal environment for the regeneration of healthy active hair follicles, which produce hair that is thicker, stronger and more lustrous. LUCE® Light Therapy has been used in Europe for over two decades and has shown impressive results in clinical trials in the United States.

The Skin Center Medical Spa specializes in non-invasive and minimally invasive aesthetic treatments, including LipoDissolve™ and SmartLipo™, or laser-assisted liposuction, which effectively diminishes areas of stubborn fat with little downtime.

Board-certified cosmetic and plastic surgeons at The Skin Center Medical Spas perform a wide range of advanced procedures including liposuction, abdominal tucks, breast augmentation, nose contouring, chin augmentation, upper and lower eyelid surgery and the QuickLift™ .
