Frank Hetherington will educate customers on hearing loss, fit hearing aids.

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) July 6, 2006 -- America Hears, the premier manufacturer and vendor of digital hearing aids, announced today that employee Frank Hetherington has passed the Pennsylvania Hearing Aid Fitters Exam. In order to receive this certification, Hetherington was required to complete a six-month training period and demonstrate proficiency in many areas, including ear anatomy, causes of hearing loss, the taking of ear impressions, and programming of hearing aids.

With this certification, I can continue to follow my philosophy, and the company’s philosophy, of educating customers in all aspects of hearing loss, rather than simply trying to make a sale.
Hetherington has worked at America Hears for one year, offering education on hearing loss, fitting and programming of hearing aids, and both phone and face-to-face support to customers before, during, and after the sale. He also administers testing for hearing loss, including air conduction, bone conduction, speech discrimination, and “real ear” testing, which tests how hearing aids function in the ear.

“I’m very excited to be able to add value to my position at America Hears by passing this important exam,” said Hetherington. “With this certification, I can continue to follow my philosophy, and the company’s philosophy, of educating customers in all aspects of hearing loss, rather than simply trying to make a sale.”

Hetherington attended Philadelphia University (formerly Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science), where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and completed graduate-level coursework in business administration. Prior to his hiring at America Hears, he worked as a regional operations manager for Great Valley Health in Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for physician and employee recruitment, physician contracting, employee management, and financial management.

“We are pleased that Frank Hetherington has completed this important exam for fitters of hearing aids in the state of Pennsylvania and is continuing to add value to the America Hears staff,” said Henry Smith, president of America Hears. “Our employees are hand-picked because of their strong background, as well as their passion and dedication to educating and helping people with hearing loss, and Frank is no exception.”
