Implementation management expert David Nielson will be discussing how companies can improve the success rate of large-scale and complex organizational change initiatives on Friday, April 18.

(PRWEB) March 27, 2008 -- Implementation management expert David Nielson, Managing Director of Implementation Management Associates (IMA), will be discussing how companies can improve the success rate of large-scale and complex organizational change initiatives on Friday, April 18 from 8:00-9:30 am at the Hyatt Deerfield, 1750 Lake Cook Rd, Deerfield, Illinois.

This includes the implementation of green initiatives, innovation efforts, new technology, and other culture changes that are high on companies’ to-do lists.
Attendance at the breakfast is open to business leaders, human resources professionals, and project managers who are accountable for project success and who reserve a space in advance.

Nielson will be speaking on Installation versus Implementation: are you claiming victory too soon? “Too often, organizations miss the mark on getting the expected financial return for key initiatives because they look at the project launch date as the goal (installation), when the real objective needs to be Return on Investment (implementation),” said Nielson. As a result, companies are disbanding project teams too early, without managing all of the human elements that are critical for strategic initiative success.

“Even when the strategy is sound from a business perspective, a structured and purposeful people-centered implementation management plan is needed, or the results are likely to be financially disappointing,” notes Nielson. “This includes the implementation of green initiatives, innovation efforts, new technology, and other culture changes that are high on companies’ to-do lists.”

Nielson will provide attendees with specific tactical actions they can take to avoid falling into the pitfall of ending projects at the end of the installation phase, with insufficient accountability on business leaders for getting to Return on Investment.

Implementation management of the human elements includes developing strategies for generating durable sponsorship, reinforcing new behaviors, communicating a business case for the initiative, and creating readiness for the change in the employee population.

Implementation Management Associates (IMA) is an international consulting practice that guides organizations through all types of implementations, applying a business-disciplined structured approach to implementation management known as the Accelerating Implementation Methodology.
