The ITIL framework brings much needed maturity to IT groups
ITIL was originally developed in the 1980s by the United Kingdom's Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) after realizing a need for a more systematic approach to an IT infrastructure. After years of success in Europe and three revisions of the framework, U.S. companies are finally beginning to recognize the usefulness of the ITIL V3 methodology.

"The ITIL framework brings much needed maturity to IT groups," said Alan Koch, Director of Curriculum Development for Westlake's ITIL Practice. "ITIL V3 describes how to manage information technology services in a more effective way and meets needs that companies may not have yet recognized."

WestLake Training and Development currently offers several information technology training courses on ITIL, including courses on upgrading from ITIL V2 to ITIL V3 and courses for professionals seeking ITIL V3 certifications. All levels of the IT department and any project managers who work on IT projects can benefit from learning about ITIL Best Practices and the ITIL service life cycle.

"Companies need IT services that align with their needs," said Koch. "ITIL V3 helps IT groups to carefully regulate and monitor services that are provided to customers as well as creating new strategies to meet customers' needs."

All courses can be taken online at your own pace or customized for your organization's needs. For more information on WestLake's information technology training courses, please visit www.westlaketraining.com.
