A Malaysian engineer aims to put the Internet Tower on the World Wide Web map. Lim Cheng Wan, 30, created a website depicting the 200 floor tower. Reservations for space are available now and the site will open to tourists this January. He hopes the Internet Tower will be a must see attraction for all internet users and online advertisers.

Kluang, Johor (PRWEB) October 10, 2006 -- A 30-year-old engineer from a small town in southern Peninsular Malaysia is hoping to make his ‘Internet Tower’ (www.internettower.com) as world famous as the Petronas Towers. Just as these famous towers draw large crowds of tourists from all over the world, Lim hopes the Internet Tower will soon be a household name, swamped by online traffic from all over the internet.

Lim set up his site, internettower.com, one night after watching the reality TV show “The Apprentice” into the early hours. He was unable to sleep and, seeing “The Trump Tower”, the inspiration for the internet tower struck. “I was very surprised that the domain was still available and immediately registered it,” he said.

Now open to booking, the Internet Tower, stands a majestic 200 stories tall. It has 10,000 units and is divided into 12 zones. There are only 50 units on each level. Each of the 12 zones is reserved for specific industries. The largest zone, comprising 95 levels, starts on the 101st floor. The smallest and most exclusive zone is limited to the five top levels. The 10 bottom floors are reserved for future ideas and not available for bookings.

Lim, who has a degree in electrical & electronic engineering, made it easy for people who book units in the tower to both customize the look of the tower and include a link to their website from their unit.

The Internet Tower is a mini representation of the internet marketplace and doubles as a must-see online tourist destination.

“If you go to Paris, you must see the Eiffel Tower. If you go on the World Wide Web, you simply must see the Internet Tower,” commented Lim.

Asked if his engineering background helped with building the tower, Lim explained, “Although I certainly didn't directly use the same skills a civil engineer would need when helping create a building, I drew upon traits common to all engineers, like ingenuity and creativity, to bring the Internet Tower to life.”

The Internet Tower site is now open for new reservations. The Internet Tower will be officially launched to virtual tourists on January 1, 2007.
