Leading online sportsbook resumes hugely popular Internet betting bulletin.

Willemstad, Curacao (PRWEB) July 20, 2007 -- Leading online sports book, PinnacleSports.com is proud to announce the release of the new, improved Pinnacle Pulse. Seasoned bettors will know that each week's Pinnacle Pulse gives an inside look at the Pinnacle Sports book and what dictates the early Internet betting line movements on key games. Now Pinnacle Sports betting is aiming to go one step further to make all players' better bettors.

PinnacleSports.com aims to make the Pinnacle Pulse mandatory reading for all bettors everywhere, each week providing exclusive betting information and betting systems that players won't find anywhere else. There will be a new topic with each weekly column that will deepen bettors understanding of how Internet betting lines move and how professionals think, while providing the necessary tools to beat the house.

So welcome to the new Pinnacle Pulse from the Pinnacle Sports book, the only weekly column written by professionals about professionals, now designed to make players everywhere smarter.

Bet Early to Avoid Disappointment by Locke

One simple online betting strategy that can markedly improve the results of the majority of bettors, is hitting overnight lines at an online sports book. Internet sportsbooks give little away, but overnight lines are a gift to sharp players.

When money talks, online sportsbooks like PinnacleSports.com listen, by moving their odds to attain roughly equal money on both sides, and maintain a profitable position. If initial odds fail to produce the desired effect, a bookmaker will increase the price to bet on the team everyone likes and make the unpopular team cheaper. An unexpected lineup, injury report or adverse weather forecast, will have a similar effect, but most moves originate with bettors. Large Internet bets from big players or gambling syndicates - steam moves - result in swift changes at online sportsbooks, while public money has a more gradual effect.

Any aspiring sharp bettor must, therefore, understand the importance of when to bet, as well as what to bet on, and how much to risk. The teams players like are generally going to get more expensive over time, with the reverse true of the teams a player would want to fade. So the earlier someone bets, the more value they are likely to find! This extra value can turn losing players into break even players and turn break even players into winners.

Unless a bettor is predicting that a team is likely to get cheaper, line shopping the next day is rarely as valuable as the overnight lines. Thus, all serious players should bet overnight to maximize their advantages.

It is harder to shop around for the best price overnight because many Internet sports books have not yet posted their betting lines. If those that have charge the maximum commission, players should only bet early when they feel their edge is large. At the Pinnacle Sports book however, the price is only -105 (bet $105 to win $100) to wager, even on totals and runlines.

The second reason to skip overnight lines is because of the limit on bet size. The overnight limits are smaller because bookmakers know that their lines frequently offer value. The Pinnacle Sports book lets players bet $10,000 on MLB moneylines overnight, and $5,000 on runlines and totals, which is enough for all but an elite few.

Finally, a casual player might skip the overnights because they are not ready to plan that far in advance, but to maximize the value of ones bankroll, it will become more important to get the best value, which is generally found in overnight lines.

At the Pinnacle Sports book, we believe it is to our advantage to post overnight betting lines as the "Hundred Dollar Geniuses" who hit them sharpen our lines. The secret is that players don't have to be a genius to make money, just a solid bettor. If focus is given to a single game, it is likely more attention than the resources at any online sportsbook can allow. Out-thinking the market is far more difficult than out-thinking a soft early number. Why bet into a sharp betting line when anyone can bet into a soft one?

Despite the solid logic of betting overnight lines, confusingly, many players still seem to want to do the opposite. Often at Pinnacle Sports betting we see players wait until we raise our limits, yet will bet an amount far less than the old limit. Our best guess is that these bettors want to know they're getting a fair price and not get tricked or feel foolish. They want a solid betting line. But why would any player want to make it as hard as possible to find value? A circled game doesn't mean the online sportsbook is setting a trap - it means the online sportsbook is afraid that whoever bets this game, will be a winner.
