New application is the first commercial coverage tool for JavaScript.

Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK (PRWEB) May 4, 2007 -- Software Verification Ltd., a leading provider of software engineering tools, announced the release of JavaScript Coverage Validator for automatic source code coverage analysis of entire applications as they run.

jscv400x400.jpg"We are excited to bring the first commercial coverage tool for JavaScript to market," stated Stephen Kellett, CTO of Software Verification Ltd. "JavaScript Coverage Validator is an excellent tool for use in unit testing, where you need to ensure that all functions and paths have been tested."

JavaScript Coverage Validator uses an intuitive interface, but it can also be controlled from the command line, allowing automated code coverage. This is useful for unit testing and regression testing. The command line also provides control over the HTML and XML export functions
JavaScript Coverage Validator provides several real-time statistics views, allowing you to analyze different levels and aspects of the target application. The summary view displays overall statistics for the code coverage of the application. The coverage view displays statistics for each monitored file. The functions view displays statistics for each monitored function. The files and lines view displays statistics for each monitored file and line. The diagnostic messages provide information needed to detect errors in the targeted application that may affect performance.

Also supported is Coverage Data export to HTML and XML. JavaScript Coverage Validator currently works with Mozilla Firefox 2.0, 1.5, 1.06, Flock 0.7 and XULRunner 1.8.

"JavaScript Coverage Validator uses an intuitive interface, but it can also be controlled from the command line, allowing automated code coverage. This is useful for unit testing and regression testing. The command line also provides control over the HTML and XML export functions," Kellett added. "With JavaScript Coverage Validator, there is no need to prepare a special build or make special changes to your application. Simply run the program, and view the results."
