Jeff Beatty, Republican candidate for the Massachusetts US Senate seat, has released his military records to the media and scheduled a press conference to address claims that called his military service into question. Beatty plans to formally announce his candidacy in the coming weeks.

Boston, MA (PRWEB) January 21, 2008 -- Jeff Beatty, Republican candidate for US Senate, signed papers today granting permission for his military records to be released to every media outlet in the state of Massachusetts. "I'm proud of my military service. For over 35 years, I've served my country and it has taught me about leadership, hard work and tough choices," said Beatty.

Recently, an anonymous email circulated among GOP activists accusing Beatty of not being truthful about his military service. Beatty has scheduled a press conference for 9:00 AM on Tuesday, January 22 at the State House to address this issue.

As I meet people across the state, they tell me they are tired of this kind of negative attack. They want a Senator who isn't afraid to fight back and who can bring the experience and knowledge that is rooted in hard work, common sense, innovation, and traditional middle-class, American values to government. That's why I'm running and that's why I will beat John Kerry.
"This is swiftboating, plain and simple. It is old-style, divisive politics designed to feed the self-interest of professional politicians who don't understand the true meaning of serving their country, whether it be in the military or in government. Soldiers who have served deserve better than this and so do the people of Massachusetts. I vow to fight any attack that comes my way, as a candidate and as your Senator."

Jeff Beatty is seeking the Senate seat currently held by John Kerry. Beatty is a former combat veteran, National Security Expert and small businessman who has been winning the support of grassroots Republicans throughout Massachusetts. He has accumulated thousands of volunteers over the last eight months and plans to formally announce his candidacy in the coming weeks.
