HOUSTON (BusinessWire EON) May 1, 2007 --
LenSec, a premier provider of city-wide, IP-based video surveillance
solutions, today announced it is teaming with Firetide, Inc., a leading
developer of multi-service wireless mesh networks, to jointly offer
video surveillance solutions to local government entities. The focus of
this agreement will be targeted at public safety and metropolitan
wireless initiatives across the United States that include security
cameras.
The combined solution will allow LenSec's
IP video surveillance solutions and surveillance cameras to work
seamlessly within Firetide's
wireless networks. Under the agreement, and with the support of
Firetide, LenSec will offer the total solution directly to cities,
counties, educational institutions and other entities where there is a
demand for security over wireless infrastructures.
"The needs of city officials to deliver high-capacity video streams
for public safety have grown over the last year, as wireless networks
provide an easy and non-destructive infrastructure without the timely
and costly build out," said Bo Larsson, Chief Executive
Officer of Firetide. "LenSec and Firetide have a common vision of
seamless wireless video, data, and access that enable metropolitan
regions to improve security, satisfaction and productivity by utilizing
both solutions.”
LenSec provides local government customers turn-key video solutions
which include security cameras centered around their integrated suite of
software providing for password authorized, browser-based access from
any computer. With Firetide's multi-service mesh networks, LenSec can
now add the wireless connectivity component to their offering, further
extending their capabilities to support public safety initiatives.
"Our customers, from local and state governments and enforcement
officials, to educational institutions are constantly seeking new
technology to provide increased levels of safety and security," said
Keith Drummond, Chief Executive Officer of LenSec. "This
alliance with Firetide allows us to provide our customers with
convenient, wireless access while maintaining and monitoring video
surveillance capabilities for a single source.”
This bundled mobility solution will be available to customers in May
2007.
