Company Donates $1,000 to Support Sales and Marketing Manager's Triathlon Participation, Quest for Cure.
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 9, 2007 -- Sparkletts, one of the leading home and office bottled water delivery brands produced and distributed by DS Waters, is proud to help raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The company will be serving as a sponsor for sales and marketing manager Beverly Alterman's participation on the Orange County Inland Empire's Team In Training®. The Team In Training program is run by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and aims to raise funds to support research for these two critical illnesses.
Alterman is currently training with her team, which includes her husband and her daughter, for the Kings Trail Triathlon, taking place in Maui, Hawaii, on June 10, 2007. Sparkletts has donated $1,000 to the team, and the bottled water company's name will be featured on banners and other promotional items at the triathlon.
This is the first year that both Sparkletts and Alterman have been involved in this program for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Alterman chose to participate in honor of her mother, Elizabeth Novine, who was diagnosed with stage IV lymphoma ten years ago. Currently in remission, Novine will be in Hawaii attending the triathlon, waiting at the finish line to support her family. Novine has also been named as an honored teammate for 2008 and will act as a public speaker for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
"Participating in this program was extremely important to me, because I wanted to be able to make a difference and to support research toward finding a cure for leukemia and lymphoma. While the research may not be able to help my mother directly, I know it will be able to benefit thousands of people in the future," said Alterman. "I am particularly appreciative of the generous donation given by Sparkletts, as it brings me closer to my team's goal of raising over $14,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society."
