Where/When: 44th Annual Design and Automation Conference 2007

San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA

June 4-8, 2007

At the 44th Design and Automation Conference (DAC), The MathWorks will showcase the use of Model-Based Design for electronic systems and embedded software, through interactive booth demonstrations, theater presentations, and workflow examples of system and algorithm design, code generation, and verification. The MathWorks will also demonstrate new products that augment the growing verification and validation capabilities in the Simulink® product family.

This year, The MathWorks will be in Booth 2779 demonstrating how Model-Based Design can bridge the gap between system design and hardware or software implementations. The MathWorks will also highlight their tools for applications such as multi-domain system design and verification, embedded software code generation, and HDL code generation for system implementation.

The MathWorks will participate in the following panels and workshops at this years conference:

  • Wednesday, June 6, 11:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m., Booth 6360

Jon Friedman, Automotive Industry Marketing Manager at The MathWorks, will join panelists from Alto Consulting, Hitachi America, and Delphi in a panel entitled Improving Automotive Competitiveness: New Methods and Tools for Embedded Design, which discusses how automotive leaders and their suppliers can change their embedded design methods and tools to improve their competitiveness.

  • Wednesday, June 6, 4:30 p.m. 5:30 p.m., Booth 6360

Ken Karnofsky, Director of Signal Processing and Communications at The MathWorks, will moderate a panel of experts from Ford Motor Co., Xilinx, and University of California San Diego in a panel entitled The One Ton Mobile Platform: Where Is It Taking Us?, which discusses the increased use of EDA tools in the automotive industry and the future of EDA for automotive applications.

  • Thursday, June 7, 11:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m., Room 27A

The MathWorks and Doulos will cohost a workshop entitled Rapid DSP Implementation for FPGAs, which discuses design flows and techniques for implementing DSP systems in FPGAs, including fixed-point modeling, tuning algorithms for efficient FPGA implementation, automatic HDL code generation, and closing the verification loop. Examples include flows that use MATLAB® and Simulink system models.
