Young entrepreneur develops a new concept solving the problem of mismatched socks while adding a third dimension to Internet business: giving people who support his passion for innovation the opportunity to appear as a sponsor on his web site.
(PRWEB) October 14, 2008 -- Entrepreneur Ricki Madsen is set to change the game of Internet business with his new innovation and Web site, www.passionforinnovation.com. Madsen is determined to sell one million socks, donate one million dollars to charity and earn enough money to develop his next concept -- all while making mismatched socks history.
Entrepreneur Ricki Madsen's PassionForInnovation.com is adding a third dimension to Internet business.
"We all know the problem of mismatching socks. From time to time we lose one sock -- we cannot help it -- it simply disappears. We put the sock that is left back in the drawer hoping its partner will show up at a later time, but it never does. Instead we end up with a drawer full of mismatching socks. Socks simply don't like to live in monogamy,'' Madsen says.
With this in mind, Madsen -- who was previously in charge of the buying department in a large textile company, sourcing socks from all over the world -- set out to realize his concept. However, he had the added obstacle of recently moving to a new country, Portugal. To many people, starting a business on one's own in a country where you don't understand the language seems like madness, but this is where Madsen stands out. Since he doesn't speak Portuguese, Madsen's business options were limited, so he decided to make a new concept, combining his idea and knowledge with the opportunities of the Internet to create PassionForInnovation.com. With his new site, Madsen hopes to connect with people around the world who share his interests for innovation.
Madsen's solution to mismatching socks involves buying 12 pairs of excellent quality socks in the same colour and size, with the same mark discretely knitted underneath, making it easier to match the socks after washing. Should an accident happen and one sock in a pair is lost, there are 23 other socks that can be matched any way the wearer wants. "These socks don't mind -- they are Swinging Socks,'' Madsen says.
Madsen has added a third dimension to his business, creating a list of sponsors where he will add the names and Web sites of the first 1,000 people to buy a solution of Swinging Socks and support his passion.
''I always had a passion for innovation, new ideas and different ways of doing things. Moving to a new country, not knowing the language, has given me the opportunity to think in different ways in order to make a living,'' Madsen says. "The sponsors list is a new feature, but we will probably see more of this from Internet businesses in the future."
