Resources on Paxil lawsuits and a tool to find Paxil attorneys have been launched at AnAttorneyForYou.com.

(PRWEB) September 18, 2007 -- An Attorney For You today announced the launch of Paxil attorney and Paxil lawsuit information on its Web site, AnAttorneyForYou.com.

Paxil, an antidepressant also known as paroxetine HCl, is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. The drug has been on the market since 1992 and has been the subject of scrutiny on several fronts.

F.D.A. Expands Suicide Warning on Drugs.
According to a December 8, 2005 Food and Drug Administration Public Health Advisory, “exposure to paroxetine in the first trimester of pregnancy may increase the risk for congenital malformations, particularly cardiac malformations.” The “Warnings” section on Paxil was updated to reflect this potential danger, according to the advisory.

On July 19, 2006, the FDA released a second Public Health Advisory that cited a study focused on newborn babies with persistent pulmonary hypertension (PPHN). According to the advisory, PPHN, a serious and life-threatening lung condition that occurs soon after birth of the newborn, was six times more common in babies whose mothers took an antidepressant drug that acts as an SSRI after the 20th week of pregnancy.

Earlier this year, the FDA ordered drug makers to add warnings on antidepressant medications including Paxil, according to a May 3, 2007 article in The New York Times titled, “F.D.A. Expands Suicide Warning on Drugs.” The FDA said the drugs potentially increase the risk of suicidal thinking or behavior in people younger than 25, according to the article.

In response to these concerns, An Attorney For You expanded its offering to provide information on Paxil lawsuits and help users locate and contact a Paxil attorney, should legal action be necessary.

Users submit a case description to An Attorney For You, which distributes the information to qualified attorneys in the user’s area. The process is easy for the user and competitive for firms, enabling the consumer to make a well-informed decision.
