Peer Software Announces Partnership with Tzolkin Corporation to Provide Business Continuity Solution

Peer Softwares synchronization technology, combined with TZO-HAs AutoFailover service assures continuous uptime and around-the-clock data availability.

Ronkonkoma, NY (PRWEB) August 2, 2006 -- Peer Software, Inc., a global provider of enterprise-grade file business continuity solutions for hundreds of Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, today announces a partnership with Tzolkin Corporation (TZO), a global commercial provider of dynamic DNS high availability services. The partnership offers customers a seamless, integrated business continuity solution, enabling organizations to keep data on remote servers synchronized using Peer Softwares PeerSync technology, and having automatic failover from primary to secondary servers using TZOs AutoFailover services.

PeerSync, the companys flagship, enterprise-class backup/synchronization tool, includes TCP support for file transfer over the Internet, giving organizations increased flexibility in implementing enterprise-wide file synchronization, backup, and disaster recovery. A typical TZO-HA implementation may have one server defined as primary or active and the second as backup. When the primary server becomes unavailable, TZO-HA identifies the outage and immediately changes the appropriate DNS records to reflect the correct IP address of the backup server/s. This change is then propagated across the entire TZO-NET DNS infrastructure in seconds and then to the entire Internet. Total propagation time can be as low as 30 to 45 seconds. Using PeerSync in conjunction with TZO-HA assures that the secondary server is an up-to-the-minute replication of the primary server, providing transparent and seamless uptime for users across the enterprise.

Grading a business continuity solution is similar to grading the performance of a professional umpire or referee: it is effective to the extent it doesnt call attention to itself," said Paul Marsala, President of Peer Software. TZO has long been a widely recognized leader in providing commercial grade, reliable, Dynamic DNS services. It is a perfect complement to Peers synchronization, backup, and network management tools, giving organizations a rock-solid, end-to-end business continuity solution that unobtrusively maintains 24x7 uptime. With the various and sundry threats looming, users can rest comfortably knowing their work can continue without interruption."

TZO caters to customers who require 100% uptime on the Public side of the Internet," said Christopher Cook, Director of Sales and Marketing at TZO. With Peer Software handling data synchronization and backup capabilities, and TZO-HA guaranteeing Automatic Failover, organizations are able to sustain uninterrupted—an completely transparent—business continuity. The combined offering provides persistent availability for all public web-facing servers at a fraction of the cost of other solutions."

Since its introduction in 1993, PeerSync has been used by thousands of organizations to keep their data secure, in-sync, and available continuously, without interruption. PeerSync unobtrusively monitors connections between storage points (e.g., server to server, desktop to server, desktop to desktop) and provides a range of manual, scheduled, and/or real-time file backup and synchronization routines. In addition, users can select multiple source-target configurations for speed and flexibility when dealing with multiple computers and storage devices.

TZO-HA is the next generation AutoFailover and load-balancing service which raises the bar for fault tolerance and high availability for all Internet bound severs. TZO uses multiple monitoring points for both primary and secondary servers eliminating false positive notifications. With a DNS infrastructure built specifically for speed and resiliency, TZO offers a guaranteed SLA of automatic failover in less than 2 ½ minutes. This includes outage identification, user notification, DNS record changes, and full Public Internet propagation. Typical failovers occur within 90 seconds.

Existing Peer Software and TZO customers will receive a 15% discount on the purchase of any Peer Software or TZO-HA products. PeerSync Server starts at $499. TZO-HA base package starts at $99 monthly or $999 yearly.
