entertainment and other business sectors to partner with Waltham,
Massachusetts based PermissionTV, a pioneering media technology company,
to design, build, launch, and manage their broadband television channels.
Intercontinental Hotels and Romney for President Exploratory Committee
have also recently selected PermissionTV’s
advanced modular and flexible publishing platform on which to build
their video presence on the Internet.
Offering one of the most powerful broadband TV platforms available,
PermissionTV empowers media brands and video content owners to produce
both streaming and DVD quality video in fully featured channels on the
Internet. PermissionTV’s advanced features
help its customers attract and retain audiences and create commercial
value through ad-supported pay-per-view and subscription based services.
PermissionTV provided FOX Interactive’s
MyNetworkTV.com, with a complete turn-key broadband video delivery
service utilizing PermissionTV’s web-based
video player, content publishing tools, and high performance content
delivery services. PermissionTV developed the video player experience to
FOX’s specific user interface design and
functional requirements.
“We were very excited to be chosen by FOX
Interactive for this site. They are on the leading edge of interactive
video on the Web and everyone wants to work with them and they went with
us,” said David Graves, CEO of PermissionTV.
Traditional advertisers such as Intercontinental Hotels, eager to reach
out directly to their customers and generate business on the new
frontier of broadband television, are also calling on PermissionTV to
help lead the way. Intercontinental Hotels selected PermissionTV to
create a video portal that takes people inside their hotels and on tours
of the host cities. Potential customers are given a virtual tour that
includes glimpses of restaurants, shops, attractions and hot spots in 16
different cities around the globe.
Potential presidential candidates are also throwing their hats into the
broadband television ring. Former Governor Mitt Romney’s
exploratory committee recruited the PermissionTV platform to launch
MittTV on its web site. The platform’s robust
content-management system and extensive customization capabilities gives
the Romney team the ability to keep evolving both the video content and
its presentation as the campaign unfolds.
Prior to founding PermissionTV in 2004, CEO David Graves was senior vice
president, Media for Yahoo! and before that president of Reuters Media.
He has assembled a team of entrepreneurial leaders from tech, design,
media strategy and management and Hollywood entertainment to offer a
one-stop solution for the design, development, production, operation and
support of Internet television channels.
They include Chief Operating Officer, Bob Lentz, a seasoned executive in
the technology and Internet industry; Executive Vice President of
Products, Dan Lovy, co-founder of Yoyodyne Entertainment and Executive
Producer, Channel Development Chad Hoffman, whose career includes
top-level programming positions at ABC-TV, Hearst Entertainment and Sony
Entertainment.
The company’s board includes Jeffery
Sagansky, former president of CBS Television and Michael Wheeler, who
held senior management positions at MTV, Showtime, NBC and Financial
News Network.
Noted producer Sid Ganis, who is also president of the Academy of Motion
Picture Arts and Sciences, serves as an advisor as does Chris Barrett,
CEO of Metropolitan Talent Agency.
Other major PermissionTV clients include Bob Vila, Martin Grove’s
Update Hollywood, and Cygnus, a business-to-business company for
professional communities.
