The Little Book That Could--Book Goes Global Through eBay Express--Flowers in Autumn: Endings and Beginnings by Patrick Riviere and Gen Riviere

New poetry/art book, Flowers in Autumn: endings and beginnings by Patrick Riviere goes global. The book highlights the authors love of nature and also addresses his struggles with loss and depression. Because of the unique size of the book, 7.5” by 7.5” and the importance of having the artwork in color, getting the book into major markets has been difficult. Now through Priced Nostalgia and eBay Express, Riviere will be reaching millions, literally.

Cliffside Park, NJ (PRWEB) October 13, 2006 -- Until now Patrick Riviere was best known for an article he wrote about the importance of actors getting a degree while he was working at NYU’s TISCH School of the Arts (a version of which is still on the Internet) and for his starring role in the Colin James music video Just Came Back. Now his poetry/art book entitled, FLOWERS IN AUTUMN: endings and beginnings, with paintings by his late mother, may bring him a bit more attention.

Going the print-on-demand route, the book has had a limited audience and because of the unique size of the book, 7.5” by 7.5” and the importance of having the artwork in color, getting the book into major markets has been difficult. Now through Priced Nostalgia and eBay Express, Riviere will be reaching millions, literally.

eBay Express is normally reserved for high volume sellers or what eBay calls “power” sellers, but through a special arrangement with lulu.com, where Riviere has the book printed, he’s able to utilize this distribution method.

“There’s no bidding with something like this … it’s simply a ‘fixed price listing,’ and with major publishers cutting down on their titles and distribution each year, this is great for the unknown writer trying to get quality work to the public,” mentioned Riviere.

Described as a collection of poems, observations and paintings, the 75-page “coffee table” book reflects his love of nature and for his family, friends and partners, but also addresses his battles with loss and depression. Spattered with his late mother Gen's remarkable paintings the book affects a variety of the senses … or at least the author hopes.

Riviere added, “I’ve always been open about everything in my life, whether it’s sharing my experience on the set of the short-lived Fox TV show, The Jury, or my difficult battle with depression, or that my only brother had Downs Syndrome, or my political activism. And I’ve tried to be honest through my poetry as well. While many of the later poems in the book are dark, I believe that people who have lost loved ones or suffered with depression will relate – so I think that’s almost everyone. I also think the poems give hope.”

Patrick Riviere was born in Albion, New York, received a degree in English/Theatre from Niagara University and became a professional actor, playwright, arts administrator and teacher. He lives in Cliffside Park, NJ. This is his first book.
