NewspaperDirect makes it possible for Mac users to read hundreds of newspapers -- either online or offline -- just as they appear in print.

Vancouver, Canada (Vocus/PRWeb) September 11, 2007-- NewspaperDirect Inc. announced that the world's largest online newspaper kiosk, PressDisplay.com, is now compatible with Apple's Safari browser for Mac OS X computers, as well as the iPhone and iPod Touch.

By listening to what our customers were telling us as, we knew it was important to offer Safari support to users of all OS X platforms--including the iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and of course, the iPhone and iPod Touch--so they have access to the world's richest selection of online newspapers.
No longer must Mac users resort to FireFox to access full-content replicas of more than 500 publications from 70 countries in 37 languages. Now, they can just point their Safari browser to http://www.pressdisplay.com and enjoy comprehensive, authentic online editions of many of the world's most respected newspapers, including more than 60 U.S. titles such as: The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Post. Hundreds of digital editions of leading international newspapers are also available, including The Daily Telegraph, The Irish Times, The Wall Street Journal Europe, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star and all 11 CanWest publications in Canada.

PressDisplay.com makes these newspapers available the moment they are published--often before they hit the driveways of print subscribers--and more newspapers are added each month.

For mobile users who like to download, disconnect and go, a beta release of PressReader for Mac is now available. PressReader lets people download their favorite newspaper to a Mac laptop and then read it later, without an Internet connection--ideal for the morning commute. A demo of PressReader can be viewed on the PressDisplay blog.

"We are very pleased to be able to offer PressDisplay.com to our Mac subscribers in their favorite browser," said Alexander Kroogman, CEO of NewspaperDirect. "By listening to what our customers were telling us as, we knew it was important to offer Safari support to users of all OS X platforms--including the iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, and of course, the iPhone and iPod Touch--so they have access to the world's richest selection of online newspapers."

PressDisplay.com requires Safari 2.0 and higher. PressDisplay.com also supports Safari 3.0 (beta) and will be formally released for Safari 3.0 when Apple introduces Mac OS X Leopard next month. PressDisplay.com was recently announced for the Apple iPhone.
