PHOENIX (Business Wire EON) October 16, 2007 --
Namescape
Corporation today announced that it has embedded Microsoft Office
Communications Server 2007 presence and click-to-communicate into their
flagship product, rDirectory.
rDirectory is a web-based application builder for Active Directory,
popularly used as a dynamic advanced employee
directory that includes roles-based delegation, user self-service
editing, group management, provisioning, and password management.
The flexible search capabilities of rDirectory empower users to search
Active Directory without knowing an individual’s
name. For instance, a user can search for “a
Customer Service specialist in the Chicago office that speaks Spanish”
and immediately get an up-to-date results list of matching, qualified
individuals. Now, with the integrated presence information from Office
Communications Server 2007, rDirectory users can see who’s
available and right-click to take immediate action using any enabled
Office Communicator 2007 client capabilities –
chat, video, audio, even Voice over IP (VoIP).
“rDirectory continues to evolve into a ‘How
did we ever manage without it?’ product,”
said Randy
Bradley, president of Namescape. “Now,
with Office Communications Server 2007 and Office Communicator 2007
integration, employees are just a click away from connecting to the
person they need at the moment of need. The return on investment
compounds over time with increased employee productivity, higher
customer service satisfaction, and reduced delays in communication and
collaboration.”
“The combination of Microsoft’s
unified communications software and Namescape’s
rDirectory provides a powerful new way for people to collaborate while
taking the complexity out of communications,”
said Yancey Smith, group marketing manager, Unified Communications
Group, at Microsoft Corp. “rDirectory
complements the features in Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 powering communication across the
applications, networks and devices businesses already know and use.”
In addition to the newly integrated presence capabilities, Namescape has
extended rDirectory’s user creation ability
to incorporate the provisioning of session initiation protocol (SIP)
accounts with automatically formatted addresses. Administrators or their
delegated representatives can choose from customizable templates to
create user accounts, populate designated attributes, assign group
memberships, provision Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Microsoft
Exchange Server 2007 mailboxes, and now provision SIP addresses from a
single, web-based form.
Pricing and availability
Integrated presence information is available in all editions of
rDirectory at no additional charge and is automatically available when
Office Communicator 2007 is detected.
SIP provisioning is available only in the Enterprise Edition, as are the
other account creation and provisioning features of rDirectory, and is
included at no additional charge.
