"The Adventures of Scuba Jack" is a series of DVDs simulating a typical day in a preschool classroom. In this on screen classroom, preschoolers are visited by various characters and get taken on exciting undersea adventures with their tour guide Scuba Jack. The preschool lessons used throughout the program are available to download via the Scuba Jack website. This enables the children to actively participate in the preschool activities and learn with the children in the video.

Gloucester, MA (PRWEB) August 21, 2008 -- "The Adventures of Scuba Jack" is a DVD series created by Massachusetts educator Beth Costanzo. The DVDs are designed with stay at home moms, daycare providers and preschool teachers in mind.

"Our DVDs simulate a typical day at preschool, with a few exciting differences," explains Beth. "Children are visited by various characters throughout their day who teach both scholastic and moral lessons. They are also taken on amazing undersea adventures by their tour guide, Scuba Jack." If that wasn't enough, parents and caregivers will be able to access and download the lesson plan being used by the students in the video.

The concept was developed by a Gloucester, Massachusetts preschool owner Beth Costanzo. Costanzo started a small preschool 13 years ago in her West Gloucester home. Initially, Beth provided daily care and education to 10 students. As word spread about the loving, nurturing and educational environment, her business began to grow. With the help of her staff, she established a successful school - Majestic Harbor Community School - known throughout Northeastern Massachusetts for its loving teachers and the unparalleled education they provide.

In 2006, she relocated to a new, larger facility where she was able to enroll 65 pre-school aged children per day! With the addition of the school's infant-toddler center a year later, over 120 Cape Ann families are currently starting their child's education in the care of 14 qualified teachers under the direction of Costanzo.

Throughout these years, Beth noticed a shortage of high quality preschool curriculum for preschool aged children. She began developing her own curriculum, activities and projects based on the guidelines set forth in the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. "I want to provide my students with an exciting curriculum that will not only prepare them for kindergarten but will excite and stimulate their young minds."

Beth enlisted the help of Melanie Giacalone to bring her curriculum ideas to print. Having taught elementary school, Melanie was familiar with curriculum development and the field of education. Over the years, workbooks, coloring books, and countless practice activities and craft projects have been developed by the duo. Beth and Melanie thrive on finding new and exciting ways to bring education to life for preschoolers and have enjoyed watching the children grow through the curriculum they have produced.

The curriculum created by the duo was such a success with Beth's students, Beth and Melanie began to see the potential in their product and started to conceptualize a way to educate preschool children on a larger platform. "We wanted to find a way to reach children everywhere". "The Adventures of Scuba Jack" was born.

The series allows children to be a part of the onscreen classroom of Majestic Harbor as one of Ms. Beth's students. Costanzo wanted to to be certain that the children were engaged in the program and invested in the education that it provides. She succeeded in this by offering the same preschool activities to the viewers as the children in the program are participating in. By logging on to the Scuba Jack website, parents and care givers can access the preschool lessons featured in each episode. Their children can practice their letters and numbers, and reinforce the Scuba Jack concepts as they are presented.

The first of The Adventures of Scuba Jack series titled "Tide Pools" has been filmed by Gallo Productions and is ready for distribution. Episodes two through five in the series have been written and will begin filming late 2008. In addition to the DVDs, the Scuba Jack team continues to create a line of educational products for preschool children. The following is just a sample of what is to come: a CD of children's songs, a line of toys, curriculum books, story books and workbooks - all based on "The Adventures of Scuba Jack" series.
