New for the spring/summer '08, Takumi is expanding to include modern translations of vintage inspired prints with unexpected pops of color. As for its Japanese denim, Takumi will continue to offer artisan selvedge denim woven on an antique shuttle loom and is now incorporating Washi denim, made from cotton and traditional Japanese paper; adding a slight, beautiful sheen to the selvage denim. This unique fabrication helps the jeans breath and stays fresh during warmer weather. Takumi will also offer non-selvage denim made from Zimbabwe cotton, which will be available in raw or distressed washes. Takumi denim retails for $220-448 and is being sold in premium denim boutiques like Blue in Green, American Rag World Denim Bar and Fred Segal.
